SAFBR09 LAUNCHED! 14/06/09

The SAFBR09 was launched on Friday 12th June in the engineering department, generating a lot of interest and reinforcing the progress the team has made this year.

With around 40 people including sponsors, members of the department and the local press attending, the team was proud to unveil the SAFBR09 to the public with its stunning Gulf Oil Marine livery. Many thanks to all those who have supported, and continue to support the team - it would certainly not have been possible without your help. From here, the team has a few weeks to make the final adjustments needed before the first systems checks and engine test at the end of the tmonth. From here, a two week testing programme is intended to ensure reliability and some setup opportunities before leaving for Silverstone on 14th July.

FBR09 launch date released 16/05/09

Full Blue Racing invites you to join us at the launch of the Sealub Alliance FBR09, on 12th June, in the Cambridge University Engineering Department (CUED).

The event will start at 1.30pm, and include a short presentation along with a chance to view the car and talk to members of the team about their designs.

FBR09 on display to 3rd year projects 16/05/09

The FBR09 suspension system was on display as part of a 3rd year project this week.

The 3rd year projects run after exams in the easter term, and provide students with a chance to work in groups and on personal projects that involve practical design. The suspension design project includes analysis of the various types of suspension and the development of a design for an upright for a Formula Student car. The FBR team was happy to discuss the design of this year's uprights and the reasoning behind the decisions made - good practice for the design judging!

FBR at Project Expo 12/05/09

With most of the team's exams out of the way, the departmental Project Expo was a good way to get back into the swing of things.

FBR was glad to talk to members of the department about the team and the progress made with the SAFBR09. Joining 10 other groups displaying work from 4th year projects and other student groups in the department.
